Coupons for the Community

This blog is for showing the goods gotten for free (or really cheap) using coupons that were provided by friends and family. These goods are then distributed to people in our community to whom I feel God has called me to serve for one reason or another. I am not a writer of any sort, a super couponer, or a very good blogger. I am just a child of God trying to follow what I believe He has called me to do. Whatever God has put on my heart on a certain day is what comes out in a post, so I hope it makes some sense and is not offensive or scrambled. If it is, it is only because I am a work in progress. Love to all, In His Name.

About

What is Coupons for the Community (C4C) ?

Sure stockpiling is fun, and one of the huge benefits of couponing is to save BIG! It is fun to be able to say that you are doing your part for your family by stocking up on household items…but how awesome would it be to say that you are doing your part for your community, as well?

Coupons for the Community, also known as C4C, is a ministry project started primarily through Discovery Fellowship Church where the EXTRA freebies obtained from couponing are given to those in need of a little extra help. The purpose of C4C is to provide for:

• Single moms and dads who need to be able to spend more time with their children instead of working extra jobs to pay the bills;

• Families temporarily with little or no income;

• Other community members who are having a rough time for one reason or another.

This program is not being thought of as a food pantry, nor are the freebies being thought of as handouts, but rather, this program is being viewed as a community coming together to help one another during times of need. That is what community is for! It is a lot easier for families to get through hard times when the community helps it’s members rather than many individual families trying to struggle with their independent circumstances. Emotionally, economically, and socially, the intent is that this program can benefit us all because at some point or another, we may all struggle with finances.

“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.” Matthew 6:19-20
